How to Delete Infected Files (Guide)

It may become necessary in the removal process to manually delete infected folders and files.  This handy guide will help show you how to do exactly that.

 

Open “Windows Explorer” (The easiest way is to right click on the start button and then choose “Explore”)

Browse to the infected folder that you have been instructed to delete.  Most rogue spyware is usually installed somewhere within the  ”C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data” folder for Windows XP or  “C:\ProgramData”  folder for Windows Vista and Windows 7.  Please note that these folders are both hidden from view by default.  In order for you to be able to see these folders and remove the rogue spyware you will need to change the options so that these folders are visible.  Click here for instructions on how to display hidden folders and files.

Find the name of the Infected Folder or File

 

 

Right click on this folder and delete it
