How to enter “Safe Mode”
If you have been instructed to enter what is known as Windows Safe Mode you can follow these directions.
In order to enter safe mode the first thing you must do is reboot your computer. If your computer is unresponsive and you are unable to reboot normally, hold your power button down for 6-10 seconds until the computer powers off. Then power the computer back on.
Just after the initial computer start up screen appears pictured below
and just before the Starting Windows screen appears
Press the F8 key. You may want to press it several times to make sure you time it correctly. You should then see a screen that looks like the image below.
Use the Up and Down keys on your keyboard to navigate to the “Safe Mode” choice. Press the “Enter” key to begin the safe mode boot up.
Once your computer has finished booting into safe mode, you will see the Windows desktop with the words “Safe Mode” in all four corners of the screen.
